The Ugly Duckling
Float downstream with the Story Man, in Sea Legs Puppet Theatre’s gentle, musical adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson’s classic tale of belonging and identity.
Meet a host of colourful characters, as they run the troubled duckling out of the farmyard into a cold, lonely wilderness. Journey through the seasons as the hapless creature finds his way in a hostile world.
But do not worry! In a grand musical finale to melt even the coldest of hearts, a happy ending awaits our humble hero.
Set on the banks of a magical river, brilliant storytelling, fantastic puppets and a delightful new musical score make this a must see show for little ones and their families.

“I just wanted to say thank you for the most amazing day today – can’t thank you enough. All of the children from pre-school right up were inspired and amazed by your production of The Ugly Duckling!”
“Many thanks for the beautiful production of the Ugly Duckling we enjoyed at the Hive the other day. I had hoped my five and two year old would make it through the tale and it wouldn’t be too stressful for me trying to keep them sitting down. As it was, we were absolutely captivated by a magical and moving performance; it was an hour of blissful escapism for myself (tinted with bittersweet nostalgia) as well as being beautiful entertainment for the children.”
