The Musicians of Bremen Adapted by Rob Ashman and Michelle
Gerrard |
|||
A Donkey too old to work runs away to Bremen town to become a musician. Along the way he meets up with three other runaways: A Dog, A Cat and a Rooster. Together they become heroes as they see off a band of notorious robbers. A charming new look at The Brothers’ Grimm much loved tale. The show features delightful puppets, storytelling, live music and opportunities abound for audience participation. Get down with the Famous Musicians of Bremen. For children age 3+ “A totally engaging and enchanting performance. The performers pitched the interest of the children perfectly, involving them in the show through questions, songs and musical accompaniment. The parents were also enthralled, all saying how wonderful the show and the actors were. It also lasted beyond the party as my son was singing the songs and repeating the sayings for days afterwards and inspiring games with his friends. A truly wonderful show, thank you!” - Natalia Silver, Cultural Services Manager, Hereford. In March of 2003 I teamed up with musician, Michelle Gerrard.
The fact that Michelle sings beautifully and plays Tea Chest
bass I found wonderful and everyone always asked about the instrument
after the show. The Musicians of Bremen was
a big hit wherever we went, receiving a particularly enthusiastic response
at The Presteigne Classical Music Festival in 2004.
Younger children particularly loved the puppets coming into the audience
and everyone loved the singsong at the end. The show toured until
Autumn 2004. |
